In order to allow educators intervene in a more functional and complete way when mapping migrants’ NFIL competences, the CROSS-CULTURAL ALIGNMENT TOOLKIT is designed to be easy to use to raise the educators’ empathy towards the migrants so that they can:
+ Better understand the roots of the migrants’ cultures to work more productively
+ Recognize when the migrants are experiencing culture shocks and develop a plan to ease their own transition to the destination country
+ Learn about the migrant country's history, government, economics, demographics and educational and social issues, so they can communicate knowledgeably with them
+ Look at their own cultural history and values so they can see how these affect their interactions with others
